Some new DVDs I got:-
The Proposition - violent Western set in 18th Century Australia. Written by Nick Cave. Alex (Scandinavian guy on the bulletin board chat forum I go to) will flip over this. Haven't watched it yet.
Franco Zeffirelli's Hamlet - This is the one with Mel Gibson. Pretty good adaptation although the complexity and political machinations of the play has been sacrificed for a more straightforward story.
The Soft Skin - More French New Wave. This time from Francois Truffaut. A basic adultery story although the ending's kinda cool. Jean Desailly, the lead actor, also has a passing resemblance to Brian Wilson.
2 Cartoons:-
The Invincible Iron Man - Just to pander to my fanboyness. It's done by the Nips so pretty anime-ish. I wished they'd stick to the red and gold armour instead of the variety they have here. Covers his origins as well.
Doctor Strange - Another comic adaptation into the anime realm. Kinda crap costume. I wished they stuck to the Steve Ditko design. The story is not as compelling as Iron Man as well.
